Product Description

Improve your explosive strength and conditioning with our Wooden Plyometric Jump Box, built from heavy-duty plywood for box jumps, step-ups, box squats and functional fitness training.

A wooden box gives you a firm surface that doesn't flex under you, which is why it's the style most commercial gyms use. It suits people who are already comfortable jumping, and anyone using the box for weighted step-ups, Bulgarian split squats or box squats.

One Box, Three Heights

This is a 3-in-1 box. The three measurements in each size are its three working heights: turn the box onto a different side and you have a new height, so one box covers several stages of progress.

XS (12" × 14" × 16"): about 30, 35 and 40cm
S (16" × 18" × 20"): about 40, 45 and 50cm
M (16" × 20" × 24"): about 40, 50 and 60cm
L (20" × 24" × 30"): about 50, 60 and 75cm

Which Size Should I Choose?

New to box jumps: start around 30–40cm and only go higher once every landing is soft and controlled. The S box covers 40–50cm, so there's room to progress.
Training regularly: most people work at 50–60cm. The M box gives you 40, 50 and 60cm in one.
Advanced jumpers: the L box reaches about 75cm.
Step-ups and box squats: pick a height where your knee is at roughly 90° with your foot on the box.

Wood or Soft Foam?

If you're a beginner, train alone, or are worried about clipping your shins, the Soft Plyometric Jump Box comes in the same four sizes with padded edges. For a firmer platform under heavier work, stick with wood. You can compare both in the plyo boxes range.

Set It Up Safely

Use the box on a flat, non-slip surface with clear space on every side, and step down rather than jumping backwards off it. Our EVA foam floor mats help stop the box sliding and protect your floor. To add load to step-ups and split squats, hold a pair of rubber hex dumbbells.

The dumbbells themselves are good quality and feel well made, but unfortunately the rack is a huge disappointment and completely lets the set down. The dumbbells don’t sit individually in their own slots – they overlap each other, so if I want to use the 25 kg pair, I have to remove the 5 kg, 10 kg, 15 kg and 20 kg pairs first just to get to them. Once I’ve finished, I have to put them all back again. It’s extremely frustrating and makes the rack very impractical to use.

The black plastic protectors on the rack are another problem. They’re supposed to stop metal-on-metal contact, but they constantly slip off whenever I take a dumbbell off, so I’m always having to put them back on.

For the amount of money I spent on this dumbbell set and rack, I expected a much better design. A rack should allow you to remove each pair of dumbbells independently, not force you to take half the set off just to reach one pair. The dumbbells deserve better than the rack they come with. If the rack was designed properly, this would easily have been a 5-star product, but because of these issues I can only give it 2 stars
