Essential Ski Erg – Ski Erg Machine for Full Body Cardio & Home Gym Training

The Essential Ski Erg copies the double-pole pull of Nordic cross-country skiing. Each pull works the lats, shoulders, arms and core, and your hips and legs bend into the stroke. It's an air-resistance machine, so it's as easy or as hard as you pull it.

Key Facts

• Resistance: air (fan flywheel). Pull harder and it resists more; there's nothing to set between rounds.
• Machine size: 52cm wide at the top, 40cm deep, 216cm high
• With floor stand: 60 × 127 × 216 cm (W × D × H)
• Weight: machine 21kg, floor stand 18kg
• Mounting: use it on the floor stand, or remove the stand and fix it to a wall
• Dispatch: same day on orders before 1pm; UK delivery in 1–4 days
• Returns: 14 days on unused items in original packaging (policy)

Will It Fit?

On its stand it needs a floor area of 60 × 127cm and a ceiling over 216cm, plus about a metre in front of you to hinge into each pull. Wall-mounted, it takes almost no floor space, but the wall needs to be solid enough to fix into. It's the most compact of our three air machines, which makes it a good fit for a garage corner or spare room. Putting EVA foam floor tiles under the stand protects the floor.

Ski Erg, Rower or Air Bike?

• Ski Erg: standing, upper-body led, very compact. Good if you want to train your back and shoulders while getting your heart rate up.
• Rowing Erg: seated, leg drive first. More even across the whole body, but 242cm long.
• Air Bike: pedals plus moving arm handles. The simplest movement of the three to pick up.

You can buy the Ski Erg with either of the others, or all three together, from the options on this page.

FAQs

How much is delivery on the ski erg?

£24.99 to England and Wales for the Ski Erg on its own, and £49.99 with the Air Bike or Row Erg (see the table above). Scotland, Northern Ireland and BFPO are shown at checkout.

Do I need to wall-mount it?

No. It comes with a floor stand. Wall-mounting is optional if you want to save floor space.

What ceiling height do I need?

The machine is 216cm tall on the stand, so you need a ceiling higher than that. Standard UK rooms (about 2.3–2.4m) are usually fine; check low garages and lofts before ordering.

Is it suitable for beginners?

Yes. Because the resistance comes from how hard you pull, beginners can work at an easy pace and build up. Keep your core braced and hinge at the hips rather than pulling with the arms alone.
