Solid cast iron Olympic weight plates with a 50mm (2-inch) centre hole, sold as single pairs from 1.25kg to 25kg or as ready-made sets from 40kg to 250kg. Every option can be ordered on its own or with a 2-inch Olympic barbell and clips, so you can buy a complete starter setup in one go.
Not sure which to pick? Most people starting a home gym choose a set rather than single pairs, because a set gives you the spread of small and large plates you need to keep adding weight week by week. Over the past year, the 100kg set has been our most-ordered option on this page.

Which Set Should I Choose?
-
New to barbell training (40kg–75kg): the 40kg, 45kg, 70kg and 75kg sets include 1.25kg and 2.5kg plates, which let you add weight in small 2.5kg–5kg steps. Small jumps matter most in the first few months, especially on presses.
-
Already lifting regularly (100kg–150kg): enough for squats, deadlifts and bench press for most home lifters. These sets don't include 1.25kg or 2.5kg plates, so add a pair of each if you want smaller steps.
-
Heavy squats and deadlifts (160kg–250kg): the 160kg and 175kg sets keep the small plates as well as the 20kg and 25kg plates. The 200kg and 250kg sets double up on 10kg and 15kg plates for loading heavier pulls.
-
Topping up what you already own: buy single pairs. Plates are sold in pairs (two plates of the weight shown).

Shorter bars are handy for curls, rows and floor work in a small room, but they have shorter sleeves, so they hold fewer plates. If you're training in a squat rack or power rack, measure the width between the uprights before choosing; a 7ft bar is the length most full-size racks are designed for. You can see the full barbell details on the 2-inch Olympic barbell page, including its load rating, which is worth checking before loading the heavier sets.

Finishing Your Setup
If you're building from scratch, the usual next pieces are somewhere to keep the plates and a way to lock them on the bar. A plate storage rack keeps them off the floor and stops them getting kicked around, and Olympic spring collars are a cheap spare set to keep by the bar. For squats and bench press you'll want a rack, see gym racks, and a bench from benches and flooring.
Cast iron is the most economical plate, but it's noisy and hard on floors if dropped. If you plan to drop the bar from overhead or train on a hard floor, compare Olympic bumper plates. If you'd like handles for easier carrying and loading, look at the tri-grip plates.
FAQs
Will these fit my barbell?
They fit 2-inch (50mm) Olympic bars. They won't fit 1-inch standard bars or 1-inch spinlock dumbbell handles.
Is "2x 10kg (PAIR)" one plate or two?
Two. Each pair option is two plates of the weight shown, so a 10kg pair adds 20kg in total.
Does the set weight include the barbell?
No. The set weight is the plates only. The bar adds 8kg (4ft), 11kg (5ft), 13kg (6ft) or 17kg (7ft).
How much is delivery?
From £4.99 for small pairs to £44.99 for the 250kg set in England and Wales. The full table is above.
How fast will it arrive?
Orders placed before 1pm on a business day are dispatched the same day. UK delivery takes 1–4 business days.
Can I return them?
Yes, within 14 days if unused and in the original packaging. The plates also come with a 1-year warranty.
